Africa Participation in UCI Para-Cycling Road World Cup 2016 



From 06-08 May 2016, Africa will be present in the UCI Para-Cycling Road World Cup in Pietermaritzburg/ South Africa.

Five riders from Ghana will take part in the event namely: ALEM Mumuni (MC2), ANTWI Seth Danquah (MC5), HAMIDU Sherif Dini (MH4), KORSAH Yaw  (MH1), SOWAH Alfred Adjetey (MC3), meanwhile the following (25)riders from South Africa will participate: ASHER Justine (WH2), BOTHA Attie (MC4), COETZEE Barend (MH4), COETZEE Gary (MC4), COWDEN Gavin (MC5), DU PREEZ Nicolas Pieter (MH1), ERASMUS Samuel (MH3), FUCHS Goldy (MT2), MAKGOBELA Simon (MH5), MANALENG Palesa (WH3), MC CREADIE Stuart (MH3), MCKELVEY Matthew (MC3), MOULD Toni (WT1), ODENDAAL Juan (MC3), RIDGARD Craig (MC2), SCHEEPERS Andries (MH5), SCHEEPERS Vicky (WC4), VAN DER MERWE Estelle (WC5), VAN DER NIET Gysie (MH4), VAN DER WALT Barend Johannes (MC2), VAN DYK Ernst (MH5), VAN NIEKERK Reuben (MC4), VERLAAT Phillo (MC3), VILJOEN Gerhard (MT2), WHITEING Nic (MH3).


The event program consists of 3 races namely: Team Relay, Time Trial and Road Race where the last two races Africa will take part.


We shall remember that during the last Paralympic Games in London 2012, Africa was present through Ghana team only.


We shall pay tribute to the efforts deployed in order to increase the number of participation of African Riders in the Para-Cycling International Events.
