Participation 

The following categories are authorized to participate at the African Continental Championships:

Men Elites, year of birth: from 1993

Men U 23 years, year of birth: 1994, 1995, 1996, 1997

Men Juniors, year of birth : 1998, 1999

Women Elites, year of birth: from 1997

Women Juniors, year of birth: 1998, 1999

 

Participation in the Women’s Road Race

The nations can enter 6 women of which 4 starters ; they have to be 19 years or older ; therefore born in 1997 and before.

 

Participation in the Women’sjuniors Road Race

The nations can enter 6 women of which 4 starters ; they have to be 18- 17 years or older; therefore born in 1998 and 1999.

 

Participation in the Men’s Junior Road Race

The nations can enter 6 men junior of which 4 starters ; they have to be 17 and 18 years old ; therefore born in 1997 and 1998.

 

Participation in the Men Elite & U23 Road Race

Each nation can enter up to 10 riders with a maximum of 8 starters, including U23 riders.

 

Participation in the teams time trials

Each nation can enter 4 riders

 

Participation in the individual time trial

Each nation can enter 2 riders

 

 African Champion Titles

The individual time trial and the road race comprise the Under23 (MU) and the Men Elite (MEL) categories in each event. Only one ranking will be established for each event. However, the title of African Continental Champion is attributed to the best rider in each category and rewarded with the winner’s jersey and the gold medal. Should a rider

of the U23 category win the overall result, he is the winner of both categories, U23 and Men Elite. The same rule is applied for 2nd and 3rd position.

 

Participation

As Casablanca airport is located 25km approx. from the down town, the Organizing Committee will provide shuttles buses to welcome and pick up all countries.

 

Plans 

 

Two paths were selected for the two disciplines Time Trial and Road. For Time Trial races , they will be held over a two-way road separated by a central reservation so riders must turn around, according to their distances to be respected (see sketch). For road races, they will compete on a course from Benslimane that including two major difficulties. Note that the categories shall make several turns, Elite Men, Elite Women, Junior Men will not pass the finish line when passing in Benslimane. (See map)
A shuttle buses service will be in place by the organizers from the hotel Suisse so that teams can go know the course before the start of the races.
